Icebreaker Bridal Shower Games
Bridal showers can be awkward during the first hour if guests don’t know each other. Help lessen this awkward tension by using bridal shower games that are sure to break the ice and get everyone feeling comfortable. A good icebreaker will give guests something to talk about to get their conversations started. Check out EasyEventPlanning.com’s list of bridal shower icebreaker games below.
- Get To Know Each Other
To avoid awkward conversations between guests getting to know each other, ask each guest to fill out a questionnaire about themselves and their relation to the bride or groom. Once everyone has arrived, ask each guest to read her card. Reward prizes for the best responses.
- Makeup Demonstration
What says girls party more than setting up a makeup application demonstration? Ask a professional to come show the ladies how to apply makeup correctly. Some of your guests will be shocked how long they’ve been applying makeup incorrectly, and they’ll learn ways to look their best for the wedding day.
- Dressing Up
Ask each guest to show up to the shower wearing a formal gown that they have stored in the closet. It can be their own bridal gown, an old prom dress or any other fancy dress that is collecting dust in their closet. Set up a mock fashion runway and a panel of judges to give out the best dressed, worst dressed, funniest and “what was she thinking?!” rewards. For an alternative, ask each guest to show up in those hideous bridesmaids dresses. At least they’ll get one more use out of them.
- Cake Ring
As you’re cutting the bridal shower cake, explain to guests that whoever finds the ring baked in the cake is destined to be the next bride. This turns out real funny if the bride’s grandmother gets the ring.
- Cooking Demonstration
To break the ice, have someone give a cooking demonstration and have your guests gather around watching the preparation. Once you serve the food, give out the recipes to these foods. Your guests will take away a great recipe and the skills to make it at home.
- M&M Grab
This is a tricky icebreaker where the host offers each guest some M&Ms. Once they’ve taken a handful of M&Ms, ask her to count how many she’s taken and make her tell a story about the bride, groom or bride and groom together.
